Sept. 11, 2020
Sadly, the CTTC-Valley Show had to be cancelled this year due to COVID-19. You can read more about that here. Many people missed seeing the many turtles and tortoises that always come to the show. A possible remedy might be this month's CTTC-Valley meeting: a show and tell. It will take place on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 via Zoom at 7:00 PM PDT. On Sept. 3, 2020 the Valley Chapter CTTC Team released the following info:
We'll be using Zoom which means many of you who have a computer camera or can share [an image] via photo uploading will easily be able to exhibit your shelled friend. You're all invited and encouraged to show one of your favorite turtles or tortoises to share with your fellow members. If they are somewhat large or possibly difficult to carry, all you need to do is have a couple of photos that you can either send to [our president] Bob Hazard or upload onto your computer screen. Bob will put them into a PowerPoint program for all of us to enjoy. He'll edit your photos for better visibility and appearance. As your pet comes up during the program, all you need to do is tell us about them!
When it's your turn to share, we will unmute you so you can tell us about your tortoise or turtle or we will enable you to touch the green "Share" button at the bottom of your screen, and your photo or computer camera will be shown full screen on all of our computers.
Your e-mail must be received by Monday, September 14 with your name and photo(s) so we can plan and create accordingly. Your turtles and/or tortoises will be shared on a first come, first served basis. No masks required.
This could be an excellent opportunity for anyone who keeps turtles or tortoises, anywhere in the world, to talk about their animals with other turtle and tortoise keepers.
To receive an invitation and instructions on how to join the Zoom session you must be a member of the CTTC-Valley Chapter. You can Join Here.
